NURSERY SCHOOL
- Admission to the European school in MOL from your child's 3rd birthday.
- Teaching organised in 4 languages - German, English, French and Dutch.
- European activities in multicultural groups.
- Timetable: every morning from 8:30, Monday, Wednesday, Friday until 12:40 and Tuesday, Thursday until 16:15.
- Big well equipped playground with forest area.
- Transition to Primary: The nursery and primary are situated in neighbouring buildings and the transition from nursery is assured through frequent visits and common activities.
PRIMARY SCHOOL
- Year one begins in September the calendar year in which your child turns 6.
- Your child can start during the school year.
- Education organised in 4 languages - German, English, French and Dutch.
- First foreign language - German, English or French - is taught daily by a mother tongue teacher. Active use of L-II as a tool is imperative from the beginning and some subjects will later be studied in L-II and not in mother tongue.
- Weekly swimming lesson and a swimming brevet at the end of primary school. The school has a swimming pool on its premises.
- European Hours from year 3: activities in mixed language groups.
- School report, based on the competences that the pupils achieve, provides detailed information for the parents.
- Primary school has a library with books in many languages.
- Timetable: every morning from 8:30 - Monday, Tuesday, Thursday until 16:15 and Wednesday, Friday until 12:40.
- Two well equipped schoolyards, football, basketball and volleyball grounds and the forest where the pupils can play after lunch.
- Transition to Secondary education: We have a detailed programme that ensures that the passage from the protected life in primary into the freer and more independent life in secondary runs smoothly. The teachers from the two cycles stay in contact and have a number of activities during the last part of the school year.
- Events / extra curricular activities during the school year: Musical get together before each school vacation, Sint Marteen light parade 15 November, Sinterklaas visits the classes around 5 December, Christmas market and Christmas farewell gathering
- During spring we celebrate Schuman Day 9 May, we have an "Open door day" in late May or early June, a Diploma Ceremony for the pupils that leave year five and a Sports Day. Our pupils go to the local Verkeerspark to get traffic instructions and practise their traffic skills in a safe environment.
- School trips for each year group: Year one and two visit a farm, year three go for three days to the prehistoric centre at Ramioul, year four spends four days at The Hoge Rielen camp area and year five has a week at the BLOSO sport Centrum in Brugge.
- School books are normally organized by the teachers and paid for by the parents.
